What is Fidya?

Fidya is the compensation paid for missed fasts in Ramadan.

  • Who Pays: Only those who are permanently unable to fast (e.g., due to extreme old age or chronic illness with no hope of recovery). If you are temporarily sick or traveling, you must make up the fasts later; Fidya does not apply.
  • How Much: The rate is equal to feeding one poor person two full meals for one day. This is generally equivalent to the Fitrana rate.

For example, enter 30 if you missed the entire month of Ramadan.

This is usually equivalent to the Fitrana rate (the cost of two meals for one person).
